National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program where people come together across the country to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness. Participating groups spend the week holding a series of educational, service, fundraising, and advocacy events.

Affordable housing is vital for a thriving community. HOTEL INC is asking our community to invest in their Affordable Housing Initiative and Preferred Tenant Program during this year’s National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. You can give online or text the word DONATE to 270-201-7748. You can also order a brown bag lunch, containing Wendy’s chili and a variety of other local items (details below).

Monday November 16th: Virtual Proclamation at City Hall

 

“Now therefore, we the Bowling Green Board of Commissioners and Warren County Fiscal Court do hereby proclaim the week of November 16th through 20th, 2020 as National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. That we encourage all citizens to recognize that many people do not have housing or adequate nutritious food and need support from citizens, private and public non-profit services, entities and government.” – Signed by Judge Mike Buchanon and Mayor Bruce Wilkerson

Tuesday November 17th: $5 Brown Bag Chili Lunch (SOLD OUT)

This year’s $5 brown bag lunch will contain Wendy’s chili, Teresa’s cornbread, fruit, dessert from Country Oven, and bottled water. Curbside pickup will be available at First Christian Church (1106 State Street, Bowling Green, KY 42101) from 11 AM – 1 PM.
