From Jessica:

“At a pivotal time in my life, Hotel Inc. stepped in and changed everything for me. I had come to Kentucky to enter treatment and ended up staying, eventually moving into sober living. Despite working, I found myself struggling to keep up with rent after paying my car payment, insurance, and other basic expenses.

That’s when I enrolled in the Foundations class through Hotel Inc. There, I learned essential life skills—how to determine how much of my income should go toward rent, what to look for when searching for housing, and how to shop smart and find deals at the grocery store. Those lessons gave me knowledge, confidence, and hope.

After completing the class, I was able to transition into housing through Hotel Inc. Harold, my housing navigator, walked alongside me throughout the process, offering guidance, encouragement, and steady support every step of the way. This transition allowed me to get caught up on my car payments and finally feel grounded. For the first time in a long while, I felt safe—like I was truly at home—without the constant fear of someone stealing my belongings or eating the last of my food.

I will never forget walking into the house on Sunrise. Rebecca walked into the house with me, and I fell to my knees crying, completely overwhelmed with gratitude for the help and compassion Hotel Inc. had extended to me.

After working for several months and getting my finances back on track, I moved in with the man who is now my husband. We met while we were both in transitional living and had been dating for some time. When we decided to take that next step and move in together, Hotel Inc. was right there—guiding us, supporting us, and helping us make thoughtful, healthy decisions.

The staff at Hotel Inc. are truly angels on earth. They are the answer to so many prayers—selfless, compassionate humans who genuinely change lives. I am forever grateful for the role they played in helping me build a stable, hopeful future.”

From Kris:

“I was already sober and working in peer support when I heard about HOTEL INC. I needed to find out what they were about. While I’ve taken advantage of every program I could after being incarcerated to get my life back on track, HOTEL INC is home. They’re my family. Now I’m working helping other people get out of where I once walked. I’m starting my own nonprofit, and my wife and I are hoping to buy a house by the end of this year. Any amount you can give, even a dollar, to this organization is worth it.”

Today, Jessica works as a peer support team lead for Lifeskills in Bowling Green, while Kris works as the Another Way program coordinator for Goodwill. Both are active in supporting others through substance and mental health recovery programs and also in Christian ministry. In his spare time, Kris is in the process of organizing Community of Endless Opportunities, Inc., a nonprofit to fill additional service gaps in the Bowling Green area.
